ACS Eco-Friendly Products

ACS Stepping Stone Centre, based in Balik Pulau, a rural district of Penang Island, is a part of Asia Community Service's Support Centre for Community Living project, which provides a work place for people with special needs.

This Centre aims to challenge society's conventions by offering people with intellectual disabilities work opportunities.

In a conventional way of thinking, people with disabilities must acquire skills and competencies, such as reading, writing, independent mobility etc… before they could be considered a candidate for a real job. Unfortunately while some may take a long time to achieve that required level; others will never ever be ready for work.

However, ACS believes that with the necessary support and given opportunities, the members can developed meaningful career paths, become more independent and take control of their own lives. Through work opportunies at the ACS Stepping Stone Centre, our members have proven their capability in making quality handmade products.
